depends wether he wants a/b power for best SQ or class d- the 2500 does 1100-1200+ rms of class a/b power bridged, and can always be used in the future for driving a set of super comps @ 270rms per ch @ 4ohms- I would probably go with it myself, I went with a 1500D thinking the 2500 would be too much of a power hog, now turns out a few people running my same car are running up to two of them for subs w/ no problems, I would'nt put anymore power than this to 2 w6's-the amp has top notch specs and speaker control as well
My bud is actually running 2 12"Diamond TDX's(1000rms power handling) off one 2500xxk- that amp is a beast
