Well this didn't go down the fun road that these type of threads really go. So let me just be me and help out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The 11ov.2 are actually very decent subs. I've had mine for a couple of years running on a Nine.1. They hit decently hard (ported) and sound HORRIBLE sealed. I actually tried a few sealed boxes thinking some of my designs were incorrect. They just do not sound good to me at all sealed. They take the power without issue and have never had any problems for me. Now, I do run my gains conservatively 5-10% under the specified RMS just because I'm not a big bass head and prefer sound quality to impressing someone in the car next to me. For the price, it is not bad.
Now, the comments about better stuff, I totally agree. Will my next purchase be eD? No, the service is just ok, nothing spectacular but it has improved. The reason I would change is the technology has really gotten much better. SI has the BM's coming out and that is really what I want, less space requirements and more of the SQ goal I'm looking for.
Loud is a relative statement. Compared to what? I've heard 6" woofers beat the hell out of some rather larger setups due to the box they were in. Will they work for you? Sure, I think so. Personally, I'd go with a different amp or go with a different SINGLE more efficient sub. 400 watts isn't a ton to play with, but on something like a MAG it would really get the job done. Man, I sound like a SI rep huh? LOL...I've never used any SI product honestly, heard a few mags which I thought were sweeeet though.
Image dynamic also makes a decently un-needy sub too.
