ED special

All in all that is a very good deal. ED makes some decent stuff, and, if set up correctly, will sound very good if not great to most ears. If something goes wrong with the equipment, then you can make a pro or flame claim to the ED's customer service. I own(ed) eD and never had problems, so I've been happy. I say good luck in finding a better deal for new equipment with full warranties.

Yes, so long as they give the masses a deal, lets ignore how they have lied, cheated and stole their way to get where they are now, right? ED has a long standing reputation for stealing when they can, lying about it when they cant. If you abide by this type of business plan, by all means, keep supporting them and being their salesman.

The Ben Milne love parade ended years ago.

I can honestly say that a lot of the people who whine about EDs customer service are just that: Whiners. 5 weeks ago i had a problem with my nine.5 so i contacted them, got the RMA number to send it back, and shipped it off. Got an email the day they recieved it, saying they would keep me updated. I got updates, mostly saying they couldnt get it to duplicate what it had done in my car, they were trying every method they could, finally they gave up after trying every option and configuration, and sent me a brand new amp. They dont make miracles happen overnight, but they get you results. And in the end, thats what counts.

If you go through the history of car audio, there isnt a single company that somewhere along the lines didnt sway, and do some shady stuff, people focus on ED's f'ups because its popular

Yes, virtually all car audio companies are guilty of trying to steal patented technology directly off a competitors product, all the while touting how their new product will best the victim's product, like the JL W7 scandal, right? Virtually every car audio company has out and out lied about products, with every intention of misleading their customers into purchasing an inferior product for inflated prices, such as the eDead scandal, right? Virtually every car audio company out there has screwed large anounts of customers on faulty coned subs that broke if a gentle breeze touched them, right? And never refunded, or even returned the broken speakers back to the poor bastard customers who bought them, right? And yeah, almost every car audio company out there is guilty of trying to steal an entire speaker design from an OEM manufacturer they were using, like the Tang Band thing, right?
Wake up dude. You are being duped into complacency with eD's own excuses. Are you an active member of ICIX by chance?

I saw this one coming. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It baffles me when people use the "everyone's doing it" excuse, as if that would make it ok, when it's not even true in the first place.

im sorry, but i owned a nine.1 and it was a badass amp. idk wtf youre talkin about.
I doubt you could tell whether or not the amp was less efficient than an average class d amp. I've never heard of the "less efficient" claims about the nine.1, but if it's true, it's not something you'd be likely to notice anyways.

It wouldn't mean that it doesn't do rated power, and it wouldn't mean that the amp in unreliable...it'd just mean that it has to draw more amps from your alt/batt in order to make the same power as the average 1200 watt class d amp.

Not to mention, its an admittance of guilt. Its the same old motive, so long as the individual isn't getting screwed personally, he can come up with any number of excuses for just about anything.
If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, folks.... its a duck.
