Eclipses remedy to the delay

FYI

I have been waiting diligently to get a CD8448 eclipse deck. The lower cost 2003 models.

They have been delayed for a while now and people are getting impatient; like the AmpMan revolution 1500. Eclipse just announced that they are further delayed for another 3-5 weeks. So what they are doing is selling the equivelent last years deck at this years price.

CD8448-> CD8052

I am not sure what the retails are...I believe $419 the the 2k3 model... what was the Cd8052 retails? I got it for only $300 but that was from a connection.

Still not bad though at $419.

The cool thing about the last years equivalent is it doesnt have the internal amp like this years does. To me thats a benefit. The one thing I believe it lacks is the time alignment... not sure though.

I find that odd... Considering the two 8053's I ordered are set to be at my house in a month... Tweeter has some set to arrive shortly before that, and with them being the largest Eclipse retailer in the nation, I'd say they likely want firm dates so as to keep their stores running smoothly.

I've already seen one of this years line in a store display, I cannot remember the model right offhand though.

DN, it is the 8443. That is cool eclipse is doing that. THe original price on the cd8052 was $549. The shop's eclipse rep told them(either yesterday or today) that the 8443 and 8053 would be in at the end of the month.

The one that you saw in the store was the 5v deck.

May be not all eclipse dealers are doing it but AMS in Madison, WI is doing it.

I dont know if it is a regional thing...but your dealer Jlaine would be in the same region. MN Right?

The 5 volts are in stores. Maybe you could pick up one of those. If not, I think the clarion 835mp looks like a pretty good deal.
