Eclipse SW8122DVC or JL 12w6v2?

So getting a new sub. Here are the options:

Eclipse Aluminum SW8122DVC, or

JL 12w6v2 for $100 more?

Opinions? I'm looking for SQ with some more punch than what my IDQ12 dishes out now.

Hmm, any opinions or justifications for the JL? Has anyone heard both of these on similar setups? I'm looking at a sealed enclosure... maybe 1.0 cu ft.

They're one of the best SQ drivers out there...although, whether that and the JL name justifies the extra expense, is up to you.

Honestly, I'd say that if you set it up properly, you could get the Eclipse to audibly sound very similar to the W6v2. SPL: both have approximately the same cone area and approximately the same Xmax....so they should have pretty close to the same output levels.

If you wait a little while, Adire will have D4 Tempests readily available, and I would highly consider one of them, especially for the price.

w6v2 is a very nice sub, you won't be upset - be sure to port it!
