Are you shooting for SPL or SQ, or a mix of both?

I loved my Type R's, but I would have to second the question in the post above. I hear the eclipses have great SQ for the money.

mix of both actually...mroe towards Sq...but both of these will be pretty loud right?

Eclispe will win hands down, they cast more, but thats for a reason, the cone is much better, and in the right box with enough watts, they can put out plenty of SPL

ok cuz i can basically get 2 type r's for 350 or the 1 eclipse for 350....so yeah....

just wonderin if it would be better to get 2 R's rather than the 1 Eclipse....the only thing is..i am getting a jbl 600.1 so the eclipse is 6ohms and svc...so i have no power! that amp would feed about 250rms...maybe i should get a 1200.1

Check out http://www.ikesound.com because they have 12" Type R's for $115 a piece, dual 4 ohm configurationg. If you wire them right, you can give them each a 2 ohm load.

yeah so if he is only worried about SQ, then the single Eclipse would be much better, but if he has the SPL bug in him then he will take the two Type-R's for more SPL
