Eclipse hu problem?? security code/disk??

I was trying to install an eclipse 5442 hu in a guy's truck today. A '95 Chevrolet truck.

Once everything is hook up & you turn on the power the unit will power up, but it asks for a disc or a code???

I have never dealt with many eclipse hu's before...

This is a 2002 model.....The guy has had this unit for over 3yrs.....

What is the problem here or anybody familair with this unit?

Any help is appreciated.

look up eclpse ESN. that deck is locked by the owner. he should know what the 'key' is.

the guy who has it, said this is the first time that he has had a problem like this. Was installed in a '93 Fullsize blazer for 3 yrs before toda, & he said that it didn't ask fro this "code" or disc when it was installed.

it sounds like he activated it at some point.

Yeah without the key cd, the only way to deactivate it is to send it in to eclipse where they will verify if the unit is stolen or not and then reset it and send it back to you. I dont remember what the charge is but I do think it cost something.
