i mean to me. its an easy decision when choosing between the cd5000 and the cd7000. if you are going active its the cd7000. if passive then go with the cd5000. if you are going passive and buy the cd7000, you wouldn't be using the cd7000 to its fullest capabilities and hence it would be pretty much the same as using the cd5000. so save yourself the $100 and get the cd5000 if you are going the passive route. not choose strictly on looks.

if its the same as my 8455. it'll go up to 24db/oct. and there are 5 q settings on the peq.

Some people may prefer the better display, but more functional wise...the detach face and learning/teaching steering control..

very true but dang that a hard price to pay for display. paying an extra $100 for a display and not functions, i dunno to me wouldn't be worth $100. but yea everyone has different priorities.

I think the detach face would play a huge roll, as alot of people steered away from Eclipse in the past just due to that alone.

One of my customers actually had me make a false face (with the stock HU) just to cover the 8455 he purchased. Now that its detach he would have had no problem paying for it.

You do however still have to press it to close, but it functions while open unlike the previous models..
