Eclipse CD5000, new units and ipods

Hmmm if your main media is mp3 than SQ is not what your after, almost nothing beats a CD for SQ. I do have a cd5000 and with the right settings it does actually make mp3s sound better w/ the trusound and harmonizer. Highly recommend it if you want a good all around deck plus it should look good in any vehicle with the different color combos. My friend has a 9853 which I think is very similar to the 9857, it is also a very good deck but I didn't really care for the look of it. We both like our decks but we both like mine more.

I agree on mp3 and SQ. Most of my media is actually AAC 320 so while not CD quality, it is tough to tell the difference, especially rolling down the highway. When I mess with mp3 128 it's a totally different story. BTW, the new apline 9887 coming out this summer is interesting... Seems to close the gap a bit.
