Eclipse AVN726E & ipod issue

I recently bought an 09 Altima and the Nissan dealership put in the Eclipse AVN726E when I asked for GPS with ipod compatibility. I have an 80GB ipod video (5th gen, I believe) that is hooked into the back. I don't know which cable the installers used.

Here's my problem. The 726E has no trouble reading the individual track data while the ipod is playing. If I hit Menu > Artists to sort through my library, it just comes up with a blank screen showing only the scroll bar and the return button. For the first month or so I could retry calling up the artist list and it may have worked after a handful of tries, but not always. Now it shows that blank screen every time. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the integrated ipod controls if I can't sort through my 72GB of music without pulling out the ipod and trying to navigate tracks without driving off the road. It also makes me want to switch back to the Alpine deck I had in my Xterra, the ipod functionality was off the charts but no GPS. Plus I'd be wasting the obnoxious amount of money the dealership charged me to put it in.

Has anyone seen this or a similar failure before? Is there a firmware update perhaps? Maybe this is a common failure in the deck or cable? Any insight is appreciated because if I don't drive into a ditch trying to pick out some music I'm going to do it in sheer frustration. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks.

I to am having a similair issue with a new AVN726e. I originally had it hooked up to my itouch 2nd gen. It was very slow to respond and would almost lock up the unit when trying to decipher the artist list. I switched to my 30gb Ipod video 5th gen and it seems to work better.

I am also having an issue with the sirius radio presets. All my other presets for fm, am, and nav are holding just fine. It is just the sirius presets, as I can save all the stations then as soon as I turn the truck off they are erased. I am 100% positive the accesory is hooked up correctly, especially since the other presets hold fine. Anyone expereinced this?

Oh and this is my first post...hello to all!

What capacity is your iTouch? I have an 80GB iPod & an 8GB iPhone. My iPod is pretty much full & it struggles with that. Once I did a sync on the Pod & iTunes had a burp and cut the sync off halfway through. With less data on the iPod, the Eclipse read everything the way it should have. After another proper sync, it went back to struggling. It has no issue with my iPhone's music when plugged in. The only issue I have with the Phone is it doesn't send any track info over Bluetooth. I have yet to invest in the Apple cable, but I suspect that would fix things.

I don't have Sirius so I'm afraid I can't offer any help there.
