Eclipse AVN52D / AVN5110 iPod Touch Help

Hello everyone, I'm a new member here and I have one question. I recently installed the Eclipse AVN52D in my 2006 Civic, including the ipod adapter and the bluetooth kit. However, I am having issues with the ipod touch interface. The music plays perfectly but when I go to search for albums, genres, artists, etc. the unit only shows the first few selections and it doesn't let me scroll down. I believe I read somewhere that the new ipods use a different storage format than the older ones and this particular eclipse model is two years old, I don't know if that's the issue or not. I would appreciate anyone's help as I'm going crazy not being able to listen to particular songs on my ipod. Thanks!

no ipod interfaced head untis will control the touch that I have heard of. I have always hated this abut my touch. Whats funny is the microsoft sync system in my new car will control the ipod touch and works by voice command.

The only thing I can think to try would be updating your firmware on the ipod to the latest version available.

If that doesn't work you just might be outta luck.

The unit I replaced was the Pioneer FH-P8000BT which also featured ipod control. It worked perfectly using my touch. However that unit just came out last year so I guess the eclipse just won't interface correctly. Ugh. I guess I need to get on craigslist and buy an old school ipod to use solely in my car.

buy one with a broken screen since it will just be hidden anyway. someone on here was doing that recently. pretty good idea actually

Well after doing a little more research it turns out that it's not the iPod touch causing problems. What's happening is that the unit will only give you limited ipod control abilities when the parking brake is disengaged. Therefore, I just did the simple parking brake bypass (ground the wire) and now my ipod touch works perfectly and I get the bonus of having dvds playing w/o the brake on.

i was having the same problem just had this unit put into my car yesterday. i got on to figure it out actually and came across your post--i just went out to the car in park you can scroll the stuff but not while you're driving--stupid! so you'll have to figure out how to bypass it...i'll let you know if we figure it out
