Eclipse AV8022 problem...circuitry?

Today, I installed an Eclipse AV8022 dvd/mp3/flip-out screen HU in my car. When I first tested everything (CD/DVD/MP3/radio) out, everything worked fine, but then later on, whenever I tried to play a regular audio CD or MP3 CD, there will be NO sound. When I press the volume buttons, there will be no volume indicator appearing on the screen like there should be. Also, all the DSP & EQ funcions will not work. However, when I switch to the radio or insert a DVD, there is sound and all functions work perfectly fine.

Also, I tried resetting the HU (pressed the reset button) and cycled the power (pulled the power cord) many times but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well at first I thought maybe a loose connection in the harness or something to that extent...but you said that there isn't a volume bar when you adjust the volume, correct? That sounds like it may be some sort of defect, might wanna take it to a local shop and have them check it out...

if it has a detatchable face, i would clean out the connection part that connects it to the unit itself.....if that were dirty then it could prevent some things from showing up....

if possible, take apart the unit and blow out any dust etc.....but you are probably gonna have to take it back to where you bought it, and then have to wait 4 weeks like i did until they get it back

Yeah, there is NO volume indicator appearing on the screen. I do hear the beeps (guide tones) when I press the volume buttons but there is still no sound and no volume bar indicator.

No, it doesn't have a detachable face...
