I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or can give me a little advise.

I have an Eclipse 32240(I think) 85x4 , anyway one day it go really hot ouside and i was listening to my radio LOUD and it shut off on me , turned it off and let it cool off, after that happened, now i can't turn my radio loaded than half volume without it shutting off , before this happened I could leave it up all day without a problem now it sucks cause it just won't get as loud.

anybody have this trouble?

Another question... I have a new 15 ti pro and a 2000 watt eclipse 7122 , does it take a while for the speaker to break in? it just doesn't seem as loud as it should be with all that power..

Sorry for the multiple questions , and thanks in advance for any info

1st off, the 7122 is only a 1000w RMS amp. It is rated 2000w Max, which is meaningless. Only the RMS wattage rating matters, which is 1000w.

2nd, the way a sub sounds is determined a great deal by the box it is used in. What kind/size of box do you have.

And are you sure the coils are wired to acheive a 2ohm load?

I have the voice coils wired in parellel , and I have a 2 cubic foot sealed box with the speaker inverted sitting on top at a slight angle facing the back of my truck(envoy)

yeah if u dont reverse the polarity, it will sound like shit
No, you don't have to flip the polarity. The only time you have to reverse the polarity is if you have two subs, one inverted and one not inverted (cause if you didn't flip the polarity in this case with two subs, then the subs would be out of phase). But with only one sub, the polarity can be set whichever way makes it sound best (in phase or out of phase). You can try flipping polarity and see if that sounds better.....but if it does sound better reversed, then it is vehicle/frequency response related and not to due with the fact the sub is inverted.

yeah just see when you reverse the polarity if it sounds better.....................

I have a kenwood ddx7015 that alows you to reverse the polarity of your subs in the head unit , that didn't make any difference , besides it wouldn't matter because I have eclipse components so no bass comes from them , they are all crossed over.

I am going to try to post a pic of my set up , do you think possibly I need more angle on my speaker ??

Yea its hooked up , its wrapped around the back of the speaker , its hooked in parellel so it should be operating at .5 ohms

Sorry for the crappy pic but I used my phone and the pics arent great, plus I'm at work so I can't get my dig camera.
