Eclipse Acoustic Microphone

I purchased an eclipse 8445 a few weeks ago (which i absolutely love so far) and have been trying to get my hands on the acoustic microphone which comes standard with the 8455 but not with the 45. I've tried calling several dealers and they even contacted eclipse but no one seems to have an answer. The manual references the microphone and i can put the unit into the mode where it generates pink noise for tuning. Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't even bother asking the dealers. Call eclipse sales in California. The number is on the website.

yeah i might give them a call tomorrow. they're tech support's pretty helpful-they sent me a steering wheel remote file and wiring instructions for my mazda3. Works like a charm. I'm pissed i bought the pac swi-ecl unit before i explored this option

Model# is VRM803. The dealer will have to order it for you. It is not in the Canadian pricelist as it is a part. Chances are that it is the same thing in the US.

awesome-that should help out a lot. Someone else had mentioned to me that there's really nothing special about the mic and if i really wanted to save myself the hassle i could just buy a lapel mic at radioshack and get a stereo to rca splitter

Yeah, it isn't anything special.

It isn't anything special but it is tuned "flat." A basic RS mic may not and your EQ curve will be messed up. I would make sure to match the right mic.
