Depends on which series.

Personally, the Aluminum's (8800) have more SQ than SPL and the Titaniums are complete opposite. I havent heard the 8700 or 8600 series so I cant comment on those.

I have a friend with 2 Eclipse Aluminum 12"s (8800 series) and the the sq is great. I agree that the titaniums are exactly opposite. They get ridiculously loud. The titaniums require quite a few watts though. I believe 1k rms on the 12"s. Either way, i dont think you'll be disappointed.

i am lookin at a 15'' sub. will it out preform a JL audio?

If you're asking whether it'll out-perform a 15" W3... No matter if you bought Aluminum's or Ti's, you're gunna see a change for the bettter.

I heard (2) 12" Aluminum's recently... very impressed. Amazing ly clear with enough SPL to please 95% of people (the other 5% consisting of mostly CAF.com users lol).

If you can justify spending what the Ti's cost, get them. If not, look around for the Aluminum's... even my local shop was selling them for $200 a piece

Yes Yes Yes, In every way shape and form, any install, any power. I had 3 15w3s, and then had 2 12Ti's that were twice as loud.
