Ebay buyer sent a payment, Status with Paypal: ON-Hold, Ship Now. I've heard horror stories about canceled payments. Is this a scam?

I heard you cant claim ur money anymore till you ship the item out and they recieve it and leave positive feedback. IDK, I havent experienced it.

ya i heard the same thing from a guy on a diff forum, pay pal would not let him take out the money till item was recived. but i would shoot paypal an email either way and see what they say.

Id ask also, but I have heard it from 3 people even one I bought something from. He asked me to leave his feedback so he could get his money, im like hell no... lol

it does it to me everytime i sell somthing on there.. i always ask the buyer to send positve feedback before i ship it and usually in a day or 2 the payment transfers and you have your money

I sell things all the time and have not ran into this yet. So I dont know. Maybe its for unconfirmed accounts?

Nope not a scam, if you have under 100 feedback as a seller and are selling high risk items (electronics) paypal will hold the money until either: 1 day after positive feedback has been left, or you have input a tracking number showing it was delivered to the verified address and the money will clear 3-4 days after that or 21 days after the auction is closed and neither of the above have happened.

Its bullshit if you ask me.

Yep best thing you can do is email the buyer explain the situation and ask him to leave positive feed back asap, provide him with whatever he needs to feel comfortable with doing that.

I do not think that is right with under 100 feedback. I am under that and have never had this. and just sold an amp last week. + bunch of other electronics in the past.

I have never experienced this and have bought everything from cars to bikes on Ebay. This wouldn't work for me since I don't leave feedback until everything is tested working. I just bought an amp and head unit and haven't put them in yet. If this is a new policy it's ridiculous.

I have experience this. The buyers were nice enough to leave positive feedback before I shipped the item.
