the round ones are not (or at least not all of them). I dont have any pics of the M1009 as I'm away on business, the only thing that I remember about the IPFs was that there was a shield which was needed for them to work properly... the kit I got came with the shield, once I was done the setup I had was allot like the older M-class HIDs.
