Easy Question

I have a shitload of 8ga wire but my amp needs 4ga. Could I just run 2 8ga wires instead of 1 4ga wire to the amp, and then use 2 8ga wires for the ground also? Thanks

Hmm...it wont be exactly equal to the 1 run of 4 guage wire but it would be close enough I would think. Alot of more experienced people can tell you better than I can but from my knowledge I think it would be ok as long as you could run the two 8 guage wires without any problems.

Also I forgot to ask...What amp/s do you have btw? Them I might be able to better answer your question. I need an idea of how much current demand your going to have.

Its one amp. I ordered a Hifonics BX 1000D. Im going to be running two kicker comp vr subs off of it. 400watts RMS each.

What ohm load will you be running the subs at....if you will only be running 2 ohms to the amp which is 750 watts supposedly from the hifonics bx1000d then you should be fine. Even if you were to run the amp at 1 ohm I still think you would be alright with the two 8 guage wires. So it sounds good to me man.
