easy, decent (and cheap) finishing for box?

Got a solid MDF box built by someone else since I **** w/ tools, but is unfinished.



Is there anything I can do to make it look presentable (not fabulous, just presentable), but that's easy to do for someone who sucks w/ tools and wood work? (yes, i am officially lame in these things) I really appreciate it!

Carpet's pretty cheap.

Why not bedline the box? Fairly cheap solution if you dont feel like carpeting.

how much you think it would cost to line? its a tiny box actually, 20 x 10 x 10 or so.
