Easier way to find artists on iPod through Pioneer DEH5900ib??

I have a 160 GB iPod connected to my Pioneer DEH5900ib through the integration cable. After selecting an artist and song after 30 seconds the iPod menu disappears. When I hit "list" again it takes you to the top menu. Is there a way to get back to the artist I am currently listening to without scrolling all the way back to it? And is there a fast scroll, or page up and down to make the scrolling faster? Thanks!!

i never found out a better way to do it on my 690

This doesn't really help with your question but what i do, is make playlist of the top artists or albums that i want to listen to so that all i have to do is hit playlist then pick the album because I have the same problem, takes too long to scroll down and then if you make a mistake it starts again.

You would think they would come up with some type of firmware to fix the issues!!
