EA alt question

Is nate the only one who says to get a smaller pully? Because everyone that is saying to get one says talk to nate, but this debate came up awhile back and it seemed like in the end it doesnt matter. Not trying to debate though because I know I will have a few wiz's showing me formulas to prove thier statement.

I understand it has to do with ratio's, like I said Im not a wiz so I couldnt not argue either side, I believe it was ignoreme that was giving some pretty good examples of why it didnt matter.

Sounded good anyways, and all the other people could say was "he said it" and say a smaller pully would turn faster..

smaller pulley = higher rotor speed in the alternator at the same speed of the engine. i didnt read the whole thread, but i read the OP post. so if someone already said it, meh

this exactly situation happened to a friend of mine. motor city reman alt. then we put a smaller pulley and it improved, slightly but not enough. so then he got a refund, and bought a mean green. problem solved with the stock pulley on it.

vid uploaded now... imma let nate try to fix the situation without changing the pully... cause i dont want to mess up something else on the truck

the voltage regulator is what is supposed to maintain the voltage, spinning the alt faster shouldn't really affect the voltage much.

And a smaller pulley on the alternator will only affect the alternator. (besides the fact it takes a lil more torque to move it, but that will probably be negligable)

I love having full output at idle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It makes shows a lot easier since I can't sit in the truck past 145 dB.
