e30 BMW

Basically I really like the look of them, particularly the 2 door, and a little searching around can get me a cheap one. From what I hear they are a good drivers car, which is handy as I would likely track it. Would be looking to find a 325i manual, but would probably be happy with any of the 6 cylinder models.

Anyone owned one of these before? Any thoughts on them in general?

just picked up a 318i manual for my sons fist car ....great cars ....and the beauty of the e30's is they now have just enough age on them to make parts readily available and reasonably cheap

good to hear! I'd love to track down a wagon one actually. A little different, and enough room for a 15" sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But there aren't many of them. Also as far as I can tell they've reached that age where if maintained properly the value of them will only go up!

Me and my roommate just picked up an e36 318i but we're doing a 5.0/T5 swap with a homemade turbo kit. Should make around 420-450hp at the wheels and somewhere in the neighborhood of 500ft*lbs of torque. The car is gutted too and weighs around 2350lbs. Should be a fun ride.

When that car is done, I would love to see pics of build/finished product, or a video, or whatever. That sounds epic. There are some guys here in NZ doing a fully documented build planning a turbo 1uzfe e36. That will be a sweet car as well.

On another note I'm looking at a mkII rev3 MR2 now, very sharp car, we have a lot of great driving roads here. Won't have room for my 12" sub though . . .

Yeah we plan on doing a small build thread for a few other forums as well. I'll post up what we have! We just bought a 90 GT hatch to get the 5.0 from and we are parting it out as we speak. We are barely going to have any money in the build. haha

Awesome, sounds like a bloody cool build. Sold my Mazda yesterday!! Car shopping time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Look into the 6 series if you want a coupe the M6 is very nice...they run and look a lot better than any 3 series.....
They are nice, but I disagree. Looks are subjective I guess. What 6 series specifically anyway, out of interest?
