Has anyone run into this problem before? A package is sent from 4 hrs away from me in NC Monday. Estimate ground delivery is Tuesday. Package is and has been sitting in Charlotte since 2am Tuesday. Then nothin comes and the estimated delivery date is gone. Call FedEx and they say since they don't have enough "volume" to fill a truck they can't give me an ETA on delivery. I had no clue this is how they operated. Plus, from charlotte to columbiaSC, there has to have been many deliveries this week.

i think its because fedex is an owner operator company which means the drivers own the truck and if it not enough to make them money they dont do it. i had that same thing happen and i wont use them i always use ups now

So what you're saying is, some redneck truck driver has the ability to delay FedEx packages from being delivered. Resulting in a negative reputation for a multi billion dollar company? What a crappy way to run a business

IIRC its only the fedex ground and like stated above in certain areas. I live in gainesville FL and its a faily big city (its no miami) and they are owner operator here. im sure theres more to it then the drivers sayin no but in certain circumstances i guess the drivers can hold up shipping

Owner operator here too in Melbourne FL my FedEx deliveries usually come by a pickup or a creeper van with a "shipment delivery" magnet slapped on the side of it

I work for FedEx in the warehouse and lately our volume of packages comin has been cut drastically and it would cost more to ship a few boxes so they will have it to you by tomorrow.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster. "we don't have much business, so let's slow down transit times"
