dynomat

if installs correctly you should notice a reduction in rattles and pinging if you experience them now, it will also make your bass seem a bit tighter and louder since you're now keeping more sound indside the car.

BUT dont waste your money on dynamat, try Brown Bread B-Quiet, or Peel-n-Seal which i used and can get at lowes for ~$1/sq.ft there are many others out there around the same price. compare that to dynamat ~$4+

dynomat like a dinosaur??

jk i used dynamat xtreme in my trunk and rear deck. reduced rattles from that area very well.

but i agree there are cheaper products that are just as good out there.

I heard that peel and seal stuff is gahbage... no offense. i think it can melt fairly easily.
i've read that also, as well as people saying it doesnt adhere well, BUT i've been using it for over a year in my car and about 8mos in my friends TL both trouble free. Prep'ed with alcohol, stuck it, pressed with various tools to all contours. As far as it melting, i have a black car and jersey summers can get into low 100's so in-car is pretty toasty, but again, NO adhesion problems or "melting".

i believe its all in the installation. they're all basically the same---> foil-backed butyl

x2

i've used it in my merc for 2 years...im sick of people saying it sucks when in all reality they **** at adhereing it properly...

i just laugh at all the people that spend mucho denaro on expensive deadner that they dont need to spend..

theres only so much you can say, all that matters is that your happy with it...reguardless of spending $100 or $400....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

^ yep pretty big difference, thus the difference in prce for two products from the same company. As was said though, there are other alternatives that work just as well for less money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Peel & Seal is rubberized asphalt, not butyl.

And no, they are not basically the same. There is a big leap in performance differences in terms of adhesion, damping quality and ability to withstand heat.

Asphalt is pretty much inferior in every way to butyl based deadeners, such as Dynamat Extreme. Dynamat Extreme is also a thicker, heavier product which will increase it's damping qualities. It also has a much higher heat tolerance.

Whether or not the difference in performance is worth the price to you is a different story. But to say "they're all the same" is completely untrue.

Raammat is another great deadener you should consider. Best value on the market in terms of price to performance, IMO. Plus Rick is one of the best guys in the industry to deal with.

Ditto...

oh ok, i was always under the impression from what i've read before that it was butyl... either way it made a big difference and was worth its weight in gold(which is what you pay with dynamat;) ). But also you nailed it, i dont think it's worth the price difference to me. I didnt litterally mean theyre all the same though it looks like it from what i typed. i know there is a big difference in thickness(mills) and a bit in materials. my point was just that i highly doubt its worth 4x the price to use dynamat as far as the performance.
