i've read that also, as well as people saying it doesnt adhere well, BUT i've been using it for over a year in my car and about 8mos in my friends TL both trouble free. Prep'ed with alcohol, stuck it, pressed with various tools to all contours. As far as it melting, i have a black car and jersey summers can get into low 100's so in-car is pretty toasty, but again, NO adhesion problems or "melting".I heard that peel and seal stuff is gahbage... no offense. i think it can melt fairly easily.

speaking of dynamat, is their a difference between their original series and their xtreme?
Peel & Seal is rubberized asphalt, not butyl.they're all basically the same---> foil-backed butyl
Peel & Seal is rubberized asphalt, not butyl.
And no, they are not basically the same. There is a big leap in performance differences in terms of adhesion, damping quality and ability to withstand heat.
Asphalt is pretty much inferior in every way to butyl based deadeners, such as Dynamat Extreme. Dynamat Extreme is also a thicker, heavier product which will increase it's damping qualities. It also has a much higher heat tolerance.
Whether or not the difference in performance is worth the price to you is a different story. But to say "they're all the same" is completely untrue.
Raammat is another great deadener you should consider. Best value on the market in terms of price to performance, IMO. Plus Rick is one of the best guys in the industry to deal with.
oh ok, i was always under the impression from what i've read before that it was butyl... either way it made a big difference and was worth its weight in gold(which is what you pay with dynamatPeel & Seal is rubberized asphalt, not butyl.
