dynamat vs. hushmat?

And if we base this off of price, is my Elemental Designs NINe.2 a piece of ****, even though I bought it for 40.00 brand new in box? Give me a break!
Its not. Thats the point. I said specifically you can get quality pieces for less than what you can get junk brand new. You just have to keep your eyes peeled and be patient. Thanks for proving my point.

This is what bothers me, I probably pay more in child support and alimony than 90 percent of the people on this forum make... yet I'm somehow a piece of **** because I don't have "enough" money to throw at the stereo in my car.

Real life rears it's ugly head from time to time.

I believe the AQX3500.1 is the same as the RD 3250v2 that was having issues.
yes it's the same thing, on caco it was traced back to the build house and the amps are the same. Weird thing is the audio pipes

either had less problems or it's less known on their problems

i have no idea which is better. of course, i perused both of the web sites and by no surprise each one has its attributes however, i would like some opinions on why people like one over the other.
i'll be honest (as always) i am leaning towards dynamat however, i enjoy being 'educated.' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

thanks!

edit to add: i did a search and did not see this topic. if i searched incorrectly please delete and hyperlink me to the thread. thanks!
When it comes to Hushmat and Dynamat Extreme, the silver foiled HM will beat Dynamat extreme every time.

The Foil is thicker, and stronger, while the butyl is of a much higher quality.

Both are top notch performers but HM is the winner.

As far as all of the nut hugging that is going on in this thread, that ish is hard to get away from.

Everyone has brand loyalties and sound deadener is no different from anything else.

I have my favorites but I am biased so I'll stay out of the argument.

There is plenty of good (and bad) info out there for you to read up on. Plenty of good (and bad) forum members and forums for you do do your research on.

What it basically comes down to is jsut a few things:

Does the product you want do what you need?

can you afford it?

Then, look to find out if there something else that will do it better, with less:

- material (money)

- energy (effort & time)

- Frustration

Do the math and go with the option that meets your needs the best

none...only thing i would get is audio technix....it has been test proven on several levels to out perform the other companies and even has been acoustically tested to out perform as well! only other company that is comparable is second skin...they are on par with eachother but audio tecnix is cheaper and has a more agressive adheisive...will stand up to the hottest day and not come off.

The simplest method to compare these data sets is to select the "200 Hz Interpolations" and plot them as a function of temperature. I have done that individually in the attached WORD document. The "200 Hz Interpolations" are a simplification of the total data set, but it is an accepted format in the Detoit Automotive industry, in general. So, it's at least a good first step in viewing the data for most people.

Print the attached WORD document and then hold each plot up to the other......... Place one page on top of the other. Compare the plots.......

Quote:

You will notice that the data set for the Audio Technix and the data set for the Second Skin Damp overlay almost perfectly. Their performance profiles (as a function of temperature) are almost identical. It's surprising how similar they are, in fact. Almost identical.

Both quotes are from the third party that did this testing for us. When he refers to the WORD document attachments they are the 2nd and 3rd pictures above.

No that proves the guy that tested the products was biased towards AT. AT paid him to do the testing not SS.
ok so any company that pays to have a product tested will always be better than what it is tested against....so that means there really isnt a better product because they all pay to have someone say it is better.....

sorry to burst your buble there bro but not once did it say it was better....the tester said they were almost identical.

oh and i forgot to mention...SS sent their product to AT to have it tested againt the AT product...lulz....
