Dynamat, second skin, brown bread, .....

They are all good...and they will all work.

Dynamat is too expensive.

Brown Bead and Second Skin are cheaper and work really well.

Dont forget eDead...which works wonders as well.

They all work, so get whatever's cheapest. Second Skin and eDead dont really smell at that bad, though.

That's what I initially thought until I tired some cheap bulk damping mats and I became a believer.

I guess it's the contents of the black stuff, the adhesive and thickness. Also, you can make a thinner damper work better than more expensive thicker dmaping mats, if you install it correct. Again, it's all install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i have found one brand of home improvemnt brand black sticky stuff that works perfectly...its exactly the same thickness as dynamat extreme and sticks just as good...i put it on my car in 2000 and it is still on perfectly and works great, you just gotta look around and find some good stuff....

how's the odour on those things? Do you have to air your car for a few days, or were you lucky enough to find stuff that doesn't emit any odours?

I know water-proofing or something that some people tried a few months back emitted a really bad toxic smell. Just be careful with toxic fumes man. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thats what i had heard from a lot of people about the horrible odor, but i gues si was just lucky, bc the stuff i used had no odor at all, like nothing, i actually have half the roll sitting right here in my closet, you could stick your nose on it and not smell a thing, i have actually installed it on maybe 10 or 15 cars ranging from hondas and mustangs to f-150s and rangers and no one has ever said anything abut any smell.

I prefer Brown Bread. Easiest and best stuff I have worked with to date, and that includes Dynamat Orig, Dynamat Extreme, B-Quiet Lite, B-Quiet Extreme, Iko Goldshield, and probably another one or two.
