DXZ785USB and hard drive

tried hooking up my clarion and a seagate 250 gig harddrive. its reading a error 2. i dont think i have enough power going to the drive. whats the plug you can plug in your cig lighter then hook the hard drive up to to give it enough power. i'll start from there.

thats not the one i need. i need the power to pass through so it can hook to the deck

bummer. i bought an 80gig bus powered hd for the car that has 2 connections, one usb and one that looks like an old phone charger. it will run from just the usb connection on a computer but the addition hole allows me to tap into a second usb power source when the connection has a low output. i used one of those for the second source.

i have the same player in my honda. i personally havent tryd an EXHDD on mine, but i do have 8 gig thumb drive that works great for me. i think you can find 32 gig thumbs or more capacity these days, although i dont know the cost for them.

just a update.. i reformatted to fat 32 and that seemed to do the trick. i have about 120 gigs on the 250 gig drive and it reads it in about 5 seconds with no problems

i have a question for you.... are you useing the 3 band eq or the bass and treble setttings? i ask because i got really confused on how to set it, so iv just been useing the bass and treble settings. if you can help me set it or whatever that would be awwwsome! thanks

no i just use the bass and treble. i never touch it though. its set on flat. i am running it active though and its been a great sounding deck. havent had any problems. if you need help setting that feature search for parametric eq on google or this site. theres no one way to set it, it all differs from car to car

yea ive been useing the bass and treble. both at 0, sub channel at -6. and yes it is a great sounding player. im very happy with it.
