Dvr Won't Record.

well, if it won't reset by power cycling it(unplugging it for a minute or two) call up your cable provider.

If that doesn't work they can send an initilization hit which will reset all the info on the box. Or you COULD try it yourself by doing the second thing here http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR/Resets

Not sure how time warner does their stuff but w/ comcast the dvr can be disabled through their computers also.. so its possible they never enabled it when they upgraded you.

If none of that works then its very well possible you just got a bad dvr.. happens way too often.

That's what I'd guess most likely. They sometimes need to enable your service and let's face it, not all cable workers are too good at what they do.

 
oh for sure. although the person enabling it is sitting behind a computer answering phones all day.
Yeah, I've been on the phone with so many of those people trying to get my internet working, took me 3 days actually until I FINALLY talked to a guy who knew what he was doing, name was Matt. As soon as he went into the account he saw that something was disabled, about 30 seconds later I had internet. Yeah they just kept sending me installers. They would come, look, tell me there was nothing they can do and leave. Except one guy actually called customer service while he was here and tried helping, but I felt as if I was wasting his time so I sent him on his way. The installers I usually get along with, mainly cause I usually get the same guy and he's cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. It's customer service reps I can't stand. Though there are some installers that really shouldn't be anywhere near my cable or anybody's for that matter.
