are there some units that dont need the ebrake to be on to watch movies? my kenwood unit had it but im looking for a lower priced unit.

Manufactures have to put them on there by law, but they make it very easy to bypass. Most units you just simply ground out the parking break wire and it is solved. Others you have to repin a harness. Some you have to put on a toggle switch and pulse it.

Yeah some of the new pioneers you have to pulse in order to bypass it. You buy a harness that does this for you. As for repining the harness the only one I had to that to was the AVIC-Z2 and D3

Is it a +12v pulse or a Ground Pulse?

In order to do it do you just ground(or +12v) the wire and put in a switch and pulse it?

Na, you take a toggle switch and on the open side place the parking break wire and on the closed side place a ground wire. When ever it sees ground in a sequence (on, off, on) it will allow for video playback. The bad part is you have to do this every time you start the car up if you are going to watch a movie.
