DVC or SVC??

I am confused on the DVC subs matching up with ohms for amplifier. i looked up a subwoofer wiring diagram and it said for two DVC 4ohm subs i need 2CH amp with 2 X 2ohms. so if the DVC woofer is 350rms at 4ohms, i need 350rms at 2ohms for each sub? i am looking to buy 2 Ma audio 120XE subs with Ma audio M600XE amp. will this work correctly?? if it does which setup would be better.... that setup i just mentioned or 2 X Memphis 15-PR12S4(250rms at 4ohms, SVC) with Visonik V408XT amp(2 X 250rms at 4ohms) by the way i am keeping my stock stereo in my 01 firebird if this is any need of more info. i am very new to car audio and just want a decent starter system on low budget so please comment and teach me up on this stuff if i have it all wrong

so would it be better to go mono rather than with 2 channel?? if i get a 2ohms output from my amp to push two SVC 4ohm subs, wont it have shorter life?? what would be the better quality?? i have alot of questions i can ask... i just want to have my setup correct so i can get the most of a system without blowing something up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IMO - if you're running much power a class D mono is a good way to go because they're generally more efficient than a 2 ch amp (class a/b).

If you get an amp that is stable at 2 ohms, no, it won't have a problem running at that impedance.

what would be the better quality??
Both amps you're looking at are entry level amps. They're ok, probably over-rated, but should do fine for a first set up.

Between the two amps you listed I'd definitely favor the Visonik. The MA m600xe SAYS it's 700w, but it only has a 20A fuse which means it's WAAAAY over-rated. 20A would indicate actual power to be in the 250w neighborhood. The Visonik has a pair of 25A fuses - it might be capable of 500-600w.

I like the memphis subs and for an amp - since you're clearly trying to keep it on the cheap side - I'd recommend one of these -

yeah, should work well. Since the price is the same I'd go with the 8104 personally - it's just the updated version of the 8103.

Wire the subs parallel and you should get right around rated power to them.

awesome.... figured out all i need, now all i need is to wait for my next few paychecks and ill be ready to go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif also does anyone have the custom wood enclosure made for the F-body firebirds?? how can you port those yourself?? im thinking about buying one off ebay because its cheaper and i want to port it if it big enough to be ported.

i think you guys are genius's or something... or just really good at this stuff... but i guess sealed it is then!! cant wait to get it all and break in the subs! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

also, i dont know anything about wiring. when i bought my car it already had the wires to hook up the amp to stereo and power and ground and all that but i need wire from amp to subs so what guage wire should i get for the 2 memphis PR's with 250rms going to each??

well now im in a decision to get the DVC version of the memphis PR or SVC version. i already had everything i needed figured out for the SVC route but i have heard that DVC sounds better. i dont know the difference because i have never compared the two. but from you experts out there, would it be worth it to spend the extra 10 to 20 dollars for DVC version of the same subs? the second route i figure would have these subs http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10314_Memphis+15-PR12D4.html with this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9582_Power+Acoustik+Reactor+REACT1-1800.html#specs

so which route is better?

DVC doesn't sound better. It merely offers more flexibility in wiring options. Once you've settled on an amp you can then decide which impedance you need based upon what your amp is stable at.

well yet again i was looking through my options to see what i could get out of my money and i ran across another route but i dont know if it will work... here it is

subs are Performance Tekniques-500rms 1000 peak DVC

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2181_Performance+Teknique+ICBM-5712DX+12-.html

amp is Visonik V408XT -* 4 Ohms Bridged: 1000 watts x 1 chan.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7122_Visonik+V408XT.html

now what i was wander if i could do is bridge these like a mono amp that crutchfield shows me here http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?imageID=2DVC%5F4%2Dohm%5Fmono

and get 500rms at 4ohms to each?? will this work and is it better than other routes i have said in earlier posts??
