i have a treo ssi in a 1.75 ft ported box getting roughly 780 watts rms from an mtx ta5601 amp. when i have the volume up pretty good after i turn it down or off the dustcap seems pretty warm sometimes. i'm 99% sure it's not clipping. i set my gains with a true rms dmm playing a 45hz tone so i should never be clipping or near clipping at all. the box is tuned to 33hz and i have my ssf at 30 hz(non adjustable). it sounds perfectly fine and i smell nothing burning or anything. i've never had this much power going to one sub so i just don't know if it's normal for the dustcap to get warm. it's not burning hot but it gets pretty warm if i play rap pretty loudly.
