dump amp question

when an Amps specs state:

750watts @ 4ohms

1500watts @ 2ohms

is there any drawbacks with pushing the 1500watts out of this Amp? does the signal start to distort at 2ohms or somethin? I read about amps NOT being stable at 1ohm..... so, running an amp at less ohms means ur stretching the amps capabilities thin? does this mean it starts to work too hard and overheat?

no, and alot of amps are 1 ohm stable. it all depends on the amp, and the impedence it can run at. and no drawbacks, if it is 2 ohm stable, then your fine. if it is .5 ohms stable your fine, no drawbacks
