Im building a smallish subwoofer for my bedroom. im calculating that i need a 3" x 15" round port for a tuning of 25hz. would pvc be a bad idea? (ie port noise) any typical stores sell anything better that would be better? excuse my ignorance:*******:

is it normal for a smaller diameter port to be much shorter than a larger diameter port to = the same tuning?

ie 2 cube box, 3inch round port needs to be 13inches to =25hz....2 inch diameter port only needs to be 5inched for 25hz tune. Sound correct?

Yep. Larger port needs to be longer to = same tuning as a smaller port.

You said "smallish" but this could mean anything. It's relative.

Determining what diameter you need will have a lot to do with the subs displacement potential. Which includes size.

Let us know sub and also what size box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
