Dumb Newbie Question

How do I mount the sub to the box? Ok, yeah I know I drill holes and screw it in, but do I have to put anything on the back of the mounting frame? Like some kind of seal to keep air from leaking out? Or am I suppose to just screw it on and call it a day? I know air leaks are bad so I'm just trying to avoid a mistake. Any particular type of screws I should use or just whatever fits? Thanks.

Make sure the fitting is tight. Then go around the circle with each screws. =)

if it is subwoofer straight on the wood, use some kind of something as a gasget or just get it really tight.

It will be against carpeting. Do I need a gasket? Or can I just screw it on?

If it is against carpet it will seal fine with the carpet. If you are mounting wood, against the metal basket you will need to get a rubber gasket to fit around the hole. You can use 1 1/2 inch wood screws to secure it. I would predrill each hole with a small drill bit to keep from splitting the wood.

The speaker should be snug, but not to tight. If it is to tight and you force it in the hole you will warp the basket and cause voice coil rub. NOT GOOD.
