Dumb kid with L5

This kid I know had a 10L5 and in september he got an 12L7 and blew the L5 just so he could go back to circuit city and get trade it for a new one cause he has extended warrenty. Circuit city said they dont carry that L5 anymore so they gave him store credit for how much he bought it for and said yeah you can keep the blown sub. so he called up kicker and they told him they'd send him an 10L7 for his blown 10L5 because they don't make L5's anymore. So I told him that I'd buy the sub he gets back from kicker for like 120 because hes getting it for free because he already got store credit. he freaks out and says "dude i've already gotten offers for $600 for my sub, box and amp." then i look it up on onlinecarstereo and tell him i can get all that for 360 and hes like "yeah on your 'onlinecarjackers.com' where they just bust into cars and steal shit. that sites mad ghetto. have you ever gotten anything from them" and i was like "yeah a set of JL components, an alpine HU, a sony HU, sony speakers, wiring kit, sony amp, sony sub."...anyways he just pissed me off

so what im basically asking is should i pay more than like 150 for a sub that the kids getting for free.

I would have whatever comes with it from kicker. but thing is. I dont really want to pay like 250 (what he wanted) for a sub he got for free. plus he is sorta my friend and hes a jackass when it comes to stuff like this

Let me work this out. Your friend intentionally blows a sub because he just got a better sub. He takes the blown sub to Circuit City who give him credit for it towards a new sub or whatever out of good faith. After getting that he then turns it in to Kicker who agree to send him a better sub for free, again out of good faith. You offer to buy the better sub and when you balk at the price he tells you that you shouldn't trust some online store because they are criminals.

And people wonder why customer service sucks these days...

My advice is to find more quality friends and don't buy stolen goods, because that is what this is, just like he took it off the shelf and ran out of the store. Don't give up your integrity.
