So I bought Diamond 12, q logic box off craigslist with a pioneer mono amp

I also have an amp (alpine mrp m 450 that is installed already in my car) and hooked up the sub when i met the guy and it played just not very loud..

Headu nit Alpine CDA 9856 with 2v outputs... and yes RCAS are connected to correct port.... i hooked up pioneer amp and the sub is basically really quite even at high volumes what is going wrong. The guy was chill, i dont think he sold me blown shi*

Is the subwoofer volume setting in the head unit's menu turned up?

Have seen quite a few people miss this when first hooking up a sub to an Alpine.

I payed 150 for the sub and the amp together with the box

yes the alpine "SUBW" is set to 15, and the pioneer amp from full gain to all the way off the sub is quiet to not very loud.... I do believe somehting must be wrong

well i havent taken the actual sub out of the box to see the wires on the inside, but since he had it hooked up to a mono amp before i got it i figure its ready to just wire right up... So I just ran pos to pos and neg to neg on the speaker....

Could the ground possibly be the root of the problem? Even though the alpine pushed my alpines pretty hard...

I am tired of gettign shi* on craigslist. My JVC headunit i got was fuc*ing bs the face plate was barely on and it would just lose connection with the face plate and just turn the volume all teh way up and u couldnt turn it down... I almost crashed the first time it happened it freaked me out so bad... the alpine 9856 i got for 95 with ipod connection (only good thing)

So any more ideas?

if you're using the alpine subwoofer output - they **** ... +15 is really more like +0db's... so set it to that

and i got the same headunit =P
