Hey guys I had a jlw7v2 and I really didn't like it, I was thinking about moving up to 2 DC audio lvl XL or 5. May be a couple of custom fi's..... Is this moving up or more of a laterial move

You mean lateral move?? They are different subs really. I would say as far as quality they are all on par with each other. The jl is a very nice sounding woofer despite what some may say. If you are going for dubstep you need a good all around woofer that can keep up with fast paced bass, and low notes. I would choose 2 x 12" ascendant audio havocs (basically an FI Q, a little better), get the fi Q if it has to be FI. I don't know your budget but I wouldn't do lvl 5 just because of the odd sized coil for rebuild/resale later.

We'll I think I decided on the dc level xls. And the 2 12 1 ohm vcs. Now for the amp. I like matching but the dc 7.5k is a little expensive...... Would y'all strap a couple smaller ones instead and get like a 2ohm load instead

I want these because they handle so much more power than the others

I'm going to order they mechman 320a alternator possible at 14.4v and have at least 3 batteries, I don't want my lights dimming at all, and I need a winch and kc lights

Also does anyone know the needed airspace for these beasts. I can go more but I'm hoping 5^3 is big enough

By lateral I meant am I getting better quality than the jl.......it handles way more power

Techno *****.... Now to answer you. Yes the JL can sound nice if in right box, etc.. Can the DC take more power well they say they do.. Both are overpriced so they have that in common. I would do alot of reading before you spend a single buck..
