Dual voice coil

since it's a dual 2 ohm sub, it can be wired for 4 ohms, or 1 ohm wheras if it was a single 2 ohm, you can only wire it for 2 ohms. that is relevant because you then need an amp to power the speaker. with a dual 2 ohm speaker, (lets say you want to feed it 500 watts) you can look for an amp that does 500 watts at 1 ohm or 4 ohms, and that makes it easier to find an amp vs. sticking to find one at 2 ohms

You can hook up one voice coil to the amp and the other to itself to make the sub hit a little harder. (At the cost of low bass and power handling, naturally)
