Dual subs: 1 set of connectors or 2?

If your gonna run a pair of subs, is it better/preferred to run both in parallel and then have 1 connection from the box to the amp .....or wire up cables from both subs to the amp?

My enclosure has 2 sets of connectors on it. I dont know whether to use just 1 and hook the subs up parralel.. or hook up both connectors and run each of the subs direct to the amp.

Recommendations?
