Dual Mtx 9512 Sledgehammer

I plan on purchasing the MTX Sledgehammer with Dual 9512 subs. Is it possible to run two mtx 1501d amps to this box. I'm not sure how its wired since I can't seem to find a audio shop with this box in stock.
that should get very loud, check out MTX's website or email them

Im pretty sure it comes with 2 4ohm DVC subs so you should be ok with 2 1501Ds

they are prolly wired together so youll prolly have to wire em up individually which is real easy

good luck

Build your own box it's a HELLUVALOT cheaper.
Honestly if I knew how I would but being in Hawaii and previous experiences with the car audio shops around here I don't really trust them to build me a box. For instance I had a 13w7 and they were building a custom box for me the day I went to have it installed they were stiill working on the box. Bottom line I sat there from 9am till 11pm waiting for them to finish the box. Currently I have 2 Jl Audio 12w6v2 powered by two xtant6.1 amps. The reason I got rid of my w7 was because the audio shop said that the w7 is more for sq and the w6v2s are more spl. I didn't really know much about the Jl subs at the time so I took their advice and sold the w7. The w6v2s are great subs I just need something with more spl.

Atleast they did it right most likely.

Don't buy the sledgehammer box, most likely its tuned in the 40hz range and you wont get the lows you want. That sub is much more powerful in a lower tuned box. Plus you'll save alot more building a 30$ box rather than buying a sledgehammer. Trust me on this one. That box alone is probably 150-200$. So save yourself some cash man.

They are retards. If anything the w6 is more for sq.

thats exactly what i thought. The box for my 13w7 was supposedly built to jl specs but it did not do what I thought it would. The guy told me maybe I was expecting to much. My friend had the 8w7 in a prowedge with the jl 250/1 and it hit so hard it sounded like a 12. My 13 barely sounded much better with a 1000/1. They also told me that bigger isn't alway better with the w7's which obviously was total b.s and you wonder why I don't trust a audio shop in Hawaii to build a box.

Given that both subs are the same, your 13 should have destroyed his 8w7. I guess you cant expect much from shops in hawaii. All I have to say is that they didnt know how to build a box. An 8 off 250 watts almost beating a 13.. Im speechless.

i did but everytime i went to another car audio shop they would tell me they couldn't fix it because they didn't know how it was installed and they don't specialize in fixing other shops screwups. Hawaii car audio sucks and they charge you a arm and a leg to hook up anything. I wish I knew someone in hawaii who builds boxes but i'm not from this area so I figured at least MTX can't screwup a box that much. i'm going to cali soon so hopefully if need be i can find a reliable car audio shop in the San Diego areal

The sledgehammer boxes are a little overpriced, but they do sound good.

A co-worker of mine just bought the exact same setup for his integra, except he used an MTX TA81001 amp. The sledgehammer box, while not perfect, sounded pretty **** good.

If you're worried about how hard it will hit, rest assured it should be able to knock you on your ***.

Just out of curiousity, how much are you going to be paying for the subs/box? If you can find a buddy who works somewhere where they get MTX accomodations then you'll save a SHITLOAD of money.
