If you do it this way, buy the 8 ohm models, and the two of them will give you 4 ohms (190-200w per sub) and will play beautifully in a ported box

For 120 shipped you can have that pioneer which will do thsoe subs very good

so i should stick with the kicker comps even tho there only single voice coil and very low wattage rating? i always heard that dual voice coil is always better over single voice coil

It's not really better it just gives you a lot more wiring options

And yes, in a good box these two 12's will sound pretty **** good, especially for only 90 bucks for the both of them!

Also - if you're going through CC, why order online? You could just go straight up to the store and buy them right now, probably.

That's the cheapest possible way - if you wanted to spend a LITTLE more money - you can get Comp VR Kickers for like 60-70 a piece, shipped off ebay

350 wRMS at 2 ohms. Get the 4 ohm version of the subs and they will work great together.

Those audiobahns have the potential to get very loud, but not only sound like crap but you will need a very powerful amp to run them, which would overdo your budget.

i went up to circuit city today and heard the 10"s and they were pretty shitty in my opinion, they dident have the 12"s on display but i hope they get much deeper and stuff, also runnin 350 watt rms wouldent that be a quick way to blow em? there only 150 watt rms

im telling u go with an alpine type r u only need one and u should be able to find an amp to push it pretty cheap on e bay or maybe ike sound they have cheap refurb amps u wont be disappointed

so 1 alpine type r 12" OR 10" will outperform the 2 12" kicker comps ? cause i can get the 2 12"s for only 90 bucks but the 1 type r 12" is gonna be $125 shipped off ikesound.com and thats a lil much for only 1 12"

For a starter setup I doubt youd be dissapointed. Even one of those 12's would sound pretty good...

my friend has two kicker comps in a large sealed box and i like the way they sound a lot. they get very low.. im sure CC didnt have those things in the right box.. nto to mention your car will sound better than the wall they are connected to. and theyll handle 175 each if you treat em right.. but just give em the 150 each and set your gains low

ok what about 1 cheap 15" thats under 100?

a kicker comp vr 15" is about 120 shipped

i guess im lookin for the loudest sub i can get for around 100 bucks? im sure those kicker comp's will sound good in my car and whatnot but they honistled sucked a fat **** , the loudest they got sounded like *** but they were also in a tiny sealed box and only 10"s , would it be smart for me to just stick with the comps and be happy?

i just cant make up my mind
