im rebuilding me set up and im thinking that one battery may not be enough. i have jbl px600.2 powering the comps and an orion 2500d powering the sub. i already have a 200 amp alt, and a red top. i have all the cables made for a big three just not on yet. should i buy another batt and put it in my trunk and just run my system off that one? or just stick with what i have

wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd battery with that amp. i'm also getting an orion 2500D and just ordered a yellowtop D31 for the back. help keep a more stable voltage to your amp, less starin on alt., and it would never wear down your starting battery.

I am in a very similar situation... I have a PPI PC2150 running my comps, and PPI PC2350 running my sub and will be adding a PPI PC2100 for midbass.

I have a 200 amp Alt being installed next week, and am thinking should i add a second batt.???

go for the next battery...cause your original battery is left to die out then it is possible to damage every device on at the time your battery dies out...

btw...putting all that strain on a single battery even though you have a 200amp alt...is like cutting your alt belt and driving the car!!!

I see that u guys already have some nice alts I would definatly suggest a second battery. That would make wiring you amps even easier and cleaner. I think you can run the Grounds to the negative post even for a cleaner ground. Maybe if the alts were not as strong, adding another batt could kill the alt because it would be forced to charge 2 batteries which I doubt it could handle. At least thats the way it is with Caps Im pretty sure the concept isnt too off.

one thing that it didn't mention that i was wondering...if you haven't upgraded alts (none are avalible for my car) would adding a second battery be helpfull or hurtfull? my stock 90A alt is the biggest i can get //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
