When installing a second alternator, how does the voltage regulation usually work? I want to get a second H.O. alternator on my car but I'm not sure how to install one, other than how to make the bracket and to run the belt. I know that the stock alternator has a plug that goes somewhere to the car's computer, but there's only one plug so how does the second alternator fit in? Also, do the two alternators need to be isolated in case they run slightly different voltages? I've been wanting to find a way to make my car (93 accord) run at 14.4 v instead of 13.8 but it looks like nobody knows how I can do that so could I add a 14.4 volt alternator and run that to one battery and the 13.8 to another or could I run them together or what might I have to do about that? Or could I make the 13.8 run at 14.4 which would be best and run both together?
