What would the difference be between 2 dual 1-ohm subs wired in series-parallel vs 2 dual 4-ohm subs in parallel?

nope not really lol. i mean either way youre going to see a 1 ohm load and the only thing thats changing is the resistance of the coil, not anything else, so i don't see where the specs really could be changed.

alot of people use the dual 1's for comp purposes. they can drop their amp down real low for burps

You would likely never notice the difference as far as performance, but consider your needs if you decide to upgrade.

That's a variable. Most woofers have their rated measurements and Le measured in Series. If you wire the woofer in parallel, you divide the Le by the Re to acquire the new Le for Parallel.

So yes, there can be differences. Good question.
