Dual 4 Ohm or Single 4 Ohm? 300 watts would be on either.

Will there be any difference in hooking a single sub up? Same brand/type sub a single 4 ohm or a dual 4 Ohm? In both conditions 300 watts RMS Total. The Amp is only rated at 330 watts RMS at 4 ohm so it would be set closer to max rating. Cannot remember 2 Ohm rating but its over 500 watts

Yes there will be a difference the duel 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 ohm so the sub will see whatever power your amp puts out at 2 ohm. Conversely a single 4 ohm sub is only going to see the 4 ohm output of your amp which you said was 330 rms.

hope this helps
