So ive designed a box for my two 15s im going with 3.2 cubic feet per woofer tuned at 35hz. so this is what a came up with 40w x 17h x 20 d wich equaled 6.39 cubic feet. i was thinking of having the woofers firing up and the port towards the back of the suv ( the same style as kicker06's 15" Q box he had for sale) ( is there a advantage or disadvantage to this vs a regualar slot port in the middle of the two woofers?.
the spec for the woofer is 25 sq inches of port area per woofer. 18.5" long. so i figured i need 50 sq inches at 18.5 long.
my question or conecern is what size do i make the port opening ( width and height) i figured i would make the height the internal dimension of the box. 15.5 inches since im using 3/4 wood. but i cant figure out the width. and a concern of mine is they reccomend 18.5 long should i run that straight to the back of the box only leaving 1.5 inches in the rear or should i make a L shape port.
Thanks for any and all help.
