Dual 1 ohm sub wiring

I have a 12" Fi ssd dual 1 ohm....trying to wire it to 2 ohm load on my amp.

So how do i wire it correctly. Im thinking wire all + together and all - together then + on amp and - on amp?

wire the + to the + on VC1, the - to the - on VC2, then wire the - from VC1 and the + from VC2 together.

Would having it wired wrong have a drastic change on output? had it hooked up but wired wrong on the sub last night and it wasnt very loud at all....hopefully when i get a chance tonight there will be a change
