drinks at lunch

People do it. It's generally frowned upon though. Really just depends on your boss and whether or not he's an alcoholic like yourself.
yeah if you cant get through the work day without alcohol you need to go to AA.

What if he doesnt drink alchohol to get ****ed up, he drinks it for the flavor?
theres plenty of non alcoholic drinks with flavor.

im not saying i need it, just wondering whats the general practice here.
we know. were just busting ur balls. since you work in a liquor store i dont really know. i know anywhere ive worked (mall, 2 factories) drinking while on the job is grounds for termination.

no, i know the boss, she is cool, but i started this week and am in like flint only reason is i only had water and beer today at lunch lol

Depends on how professional the company is, a low level of professionalism and its ok to drink, mid level and its not, and high level its okay again. It's a strange thing.

At a low level nobody cares and everyone knows your job is grunt-level and easily replaced. Hence, alcohol doesn't matter.

At a high level your skills are proven you to be effective and/or essential so nobody will fuk with your methods even if they include a 1pm scotch rocks.

At a mid level you are just valuable enough to not be disposable but not valuable enough to be trusted. Thus people from both ends will cause the climate to shift in the direction of being a dork as a plus, which, might I add, will ironically keep you from the cool kid club of the aforementioned "high level".

I never drink alcohol at lunch, if something isn't right, gets messed up, or someone gets hurt their gonna be pointing fingers. That's one of the first things their gonna throw at someone. I wait till I get home if I'm gonna drink.

yeah i just drink on the weekends, but just not sure on the whole week day lunch thing. i work my arse off so just wondering. i hope to be manager with keys to open and close within 6 months or so just looking to see what professionalism is needed here.

Well pretty much just follow what everyone else does. Order a water first, if your boss orders a beer then next time order a beer too. Also, if you can't have one beer and then go back to work half an hour to an hour later and cant sober up, thats pretty bad. I've gotten to the point where having one beer barely does anything

Gonna have to try that one.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:cool:

I've always heard that if you drink before 10 a.m. you are an alcoholic. Now if I can find that bottle I had last night, I'll have a little "eye opener" in my coffee.

Bottle is empty. Beer is OK in coffee right??.... Guess we will see.
