Drilled into gas tank

you guys are all on crack.

drive your car till its bout empty. drop the tank, should be a few freakin bolts. get some rough sandpaper and grind around the hole a bit. get the JB weld, and a small piece of aluminum [sand the aluminum up too] and put a healthy amount of JB weld around the hole, and put the aluminum on it. then sand the top down, and put more jbweld on it and your done.

you all are making it seem like its a 5 inch ****ing tear in the take. its a ****ing PINHOLE. prolly as bit as the letter "o" on your screen.

so stop being a bunch of *****es. gas is not a magical substance that will permiate thru that tiny PATCHED hole. just stop drilling into your tank for chris'sake.

Yah.. this should be an easy job. And everyone who says JB Weld doesn't work is indeed an asshat... Because for something like this, it will work great.

Basically, thank you req, for handling the problem properly.

I might add- before you do anything to the tank, drain it completely, and let it dry completely- it doesn't take many gasoline fumes to make an explosion.

THe things I would be worried about would be how to unhook and rehook the filler neck and any vent hosing that there may be... That kind of stuff can be difficult and tricky, I'd think.

And, once it is done, it would not hurt at all to replace your fuel filter. If it's an older vehicle, might as well replace the fuel pump too. Hell, while you are at it, throw some white kereosene in there and clean out the gunk... If there is any.

Yeah he did those things already. He just forgot to repair the holes when he was doing the fuel pump swap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Sorry I don't read every post... Most of the time it's not worth the effort.
