haha thats true.Also a draft is political *******, and during a time where presidential approval polls rules, i dont think its a likely chance.

i know the war is worthless but id rather stand up as i am and do something good with my life. after my car accident there was no way i could play sports anymore or anything for that matter. i was laid up for almost 1 1/2 years after a drunk driver came across the freeway and hit us and killed my brother and my best friend.so i want to do something in return for them and the rest of america.i dont care if im a mouse and it is a trap atleast i tried.

I love this country and what it was founded on. With that in mind, I refuse to take part in an imperialistic war.

There is no way a draft will happen, if it did for this war and I was chosen, hello Canada. Not in fear but protest. Put me in 1942 and I'd join voluntarily.

read the terms of the selective service agreement. it IS the draft in a way. i thought it was bullshit when i signed it..

uhh... "in a way"? do you know how the draft works? You register with the selective service agency when you turn 18 and, if a draft in instituted, they go to those people registered and randomly select as many as they need.

Correct. I believe they give you a number when you register. Then if a draft would to be issued they randomly start drawing numbers. If yours comes up, your off to war. I also think you can pick what you want to be in (marines, navy, airforce).

Don't wanna seem like I'm anti-US... but what was this country really founded on? You do realize that whole pilgrims Thanksgiving crap is a myth right? The pilgrims didn't come here for religious freedom and all that BS, they were a fanatic christian group that believed all other religions were going to hell and they wanted to get away from all the evil lol.

Our country has always been founded upon violence and imperialism. We got here, stole the Native American's land... then sent them to camps to become "Americanized". We spew all this Democracy bullshit but the truth is that all we want is market Globalization. Our goverment constantly relies on the tactic of "othering" so that we have an excuse to justify our imperialism. Look what happened after the Soviet Union collapsed, we had no "other" for a period of time and our government became very nervous since the economy was actually working towards the good of all people and not the extremely small minority who are elite. I hate to say it, but 9/11 couldn't have been a better thing for the rich class of our country. I'll bet that Cheney was dancing down the aisles of Air Force 2 that day. A new "other" was brought about... the "evil terrorists!"... a great big excuse to make some money! And you wonder why we invade places that had nothing to do with 9/11.

Maybe the US had a feeling that some thing was going to happen but they didn't know exactly when and how. Do you honestly think the President of our country would let so many people die?
Even though I disagree with most of the President's decisions I disagree with what the media and people say that Bush knew all along about 9-11. That is complete bs.
